Harbor Freight is an AMAZING site!

I was so excited today after my Hubby Lloyd had shown me some great prices on some tools at Harbor Freight that he wanted.  After he went to his EMT class I got back on and decided to order some of the tools he wanted for his Birthday.  I got everything in my shopping cart, then went to http://www.retailmenot.com (wonderful site as well) and looked to see what coupon codes I could find for Harbor Freight.  There were TONZ!!  I found 6 different items that were free after you put them in your cart with the code.  THEN.....all of the items I put in my cart were on sale.....however I also found different coupon codes to make each item at 20% more off after the sale price!!!  I was ecstatic!! I have NEVER found a site that lets you use more than 3 coupon codes, much less use a coupon code for every item and get 6 free items!!  Shipping was only $9.99, which for me was a great deal, it would have been more in gas to drive an hour to the closest harbor freight store.
ALSO.....when you sign up to receive emails from them you get coupons for in-store or online.  I think I'll ALWAYS refer to this site before looking anywhere else for tools.  Check it out!! If you follow this link to
Harbor Freight    you will receive a 20% off coupon code automatically for 1 item in your cart.  So if you decide to get some tools make sure you look at retailmenot for the AWESOME coupon codes!!

This was my favorite thing I ordered (for Lloyd hehe) a

12 Piece Carbide Tip Router Bits set for only $29.99 (reg. $34.99) plus I got 20% off so it ended up being $23.99.

Nursing Covers

I had purchased myself a nice nursing cover at a craft fair when my 3 yr old was a baby, I only used it a handful of times and loved it!  I used the cover a zillion times for my 1 yr old, but had noticed my friends that had really crappy, tiny nursing covers that barely covered themselves much-less the baby.  They had gotten 'free' ones offline (where they just paid for the shipping) that had shrunk by 1/2 in the wash.  I was looking at mine one day while feeding the baby and noticed that it would be pretty simple to make one myself.  I had told a friend this, but since she didn't sew I offered to make her one. I went to Hobby Lobby, bought two different fabrics that looked like my friend and my Pregnant Sister-In-Law's styles.  I also bought some boning, matching ribbon, and 'd' rings.  It took me about 30 minutes to whip two of these babies up!  They were easy, fun, cheap, the perfect size, and cute too!!  Both my friend and my Sister-In-Law loved them!
I need to make some more to keep on hand for baby showers, but then again I like to pick out fabric that resembles her personality. Never underestimate yourself, if you put your mind to it, you can do it!

Molten Chocolate Lava Cakes

I had realized after I put the caramel inside that it was supposed to be chocolate sauce, so I put that in after and froze the cakes.
Here are the cakes with the caramel sauce already frozen inside, sorry my pic won't move it's being stubborn.

Mmmm Ice cream on the cakes after they've been microwaved for 40 seconds.

Drizzled with 'magic shell' chocolate topper.

Molten Chocolate Lava Cakes like Chillis!  Start out by making cupcakes with a devils food or dark chocolate or I guess any kind of chocolate cake mix.  Let them cool. You can scoop out a bit of it, but I just pushed with my fingers and made a hole in each one about the size of a ping pong ball.  Then you take Chocolate sauce and heat it up a bit to make it easier to put into the holes.  I used a mini cookie scoop to put mine in the holes.  Then you put them in the freezer and let them harden.
I accidentally put caramel sauce inside of mine, so when I realized my mistake I also put chocolate sauce on top of that, and I think I love my mistake!  Just store the cakes in the freezer until you're ready for dessert, when you are, get them out and microwave them for 30-40 seconds to warm the sauce inside and the cakes.  Top with vanilla ice cream.  Pour 'magic shell' chocolate topper on and serve!  I promise you'll love these!!
We usually put 4-5 on a plate and share it (when it's just family) Another way to make bigger ones is to use the 'Texas' size muffin tins.
These were the best desserts!! We've had them several times, you just take a few out and pop them in the microwave then top them and voila!  Amazing dessert!

Kitchen Make-over

This is what our kitchen looked like when we first bought our house.  Beautiful orange and gold carpet EVERYWHERE!

My hubby Lloyd replaced the carpet with this 'rustic barnwood' laminate flooring which I LOVE!

The cabinets were in really good condition, but outdated, so Lloyd took them all off to sand and paint them. Oh, and you can see where Lloyd is sitting is drawers, after painting Lloyd removed them and I got a dishwasher!! YAY!!!  I do NOT miss the drawers or cabinet space it took away, I'd much rather have the dishwasher.  And my hands love me for it too.

When we took the carpet off the bar we were left with a lot of yucky glue that wouldn't sand off.

Here is the kitchen with a coat of paint on the walls and cabinets, you can't tell but we've distressed the cracks of the cabinets and still have more to scuff and put some stain to seal the cabinets.

I absolutely love the new look it gave my kitchen, see my dishwasher!  Maybe someday I'll get a new stove and fridge.....

Winter Pick Me Up

 TULIPS
Their dazzling colors are thanks to the years in the 17th century when tulip mania swept the globe and the most eye-catching specimens changed hands for a small fortune. But like a Rainbow, this colorful landscape is a short-lived phenomenon. When the flowers are gone, the land will be cultivated for a rather more mundane crop of vegetables. The Netherlands produce more than nine million bulbs a year.

This was so beautiful I had to share, I would love to be able to look out my window and see this!  I needed a pick me up from the winter blues.  We've had  -7 degree weather plus who knows what the wind chill factors in.  Today it was a balmy 27*, it's sad but we were excited to have such warm weather!

Amazing!  Sorry I haven't been posting, I've had a sick baby who only wants me to hold her all day, today was better so hopefully I can get back in the swing of blogging!
